Eaton, a global power management company, set out to create a memorable, non-traditional leadership development experience for its emerging leaders. Instead of a typical workshop, the goal was an impactful, experiential journey. From over 100,000 employees, 30 high-potential managers were handpicked to take part, with a clear brief: make it bold, make it stick.
“Give Learn was not only great about listening to what I needed, but they were able to provide a unique experience, location and fantastic speakers.”
Delivery highlights included the surprise element of the locker-room session, which many cited as a favorite moment, and the blend of perspectives: hearing from a seasoned business executive and an elite athlete in one program. The presence of these guest leaders made the content tangible and inspiring – for example, participants heard firsthand how Val Quinn navigated scaling leadership at a major corporation and how Bernard Jackman led teams under pressure on the rugby field. Such stories and discussions brought the “Scaling Your Leadership” theme to life in vivid color. Eaton’s leaders were not passive listeners that day; they were immersed in a story-driven journey that challenged them to think differently about leadership. By the end of the day, the cohort had formed a tight network, buzzing with shared excitement and new ideas to carry back into their roles.
The ATP aimed to support players nearing retirement by preparing them for life beyond tennis. Recognizing that many athletes focus solely on their sport, the challenge was to engage them in proactive career planning before retirement. The goal: equip players with tools and mentorship to navigate their next chapter confidently.
“This program opens up your mind to opportunities and helps you find a path for yourself… It’s been a great thing to actively think about what’s next.”
The ATP Player Mentoring Programme is already making a clear impact. Players are engaging more proactively in their off-court development — building networks, exploring new interests, and preparing for life beyond tennis. Many have enrolled in courses, taken on shadowing opportunities, or started mapping out future ventures. One player shared that the programme “opens up your mind to opportunities and helps you find a path for yourself.” Across the tour, conversations are evolving — players are now talking about business, growth, and what's next. For the ATP, this initiative is more than support; it’s a powerful signal that a tennis career can open the door to a second act filled with purpose and possibility.
